For over 25 years,
Sandra Banava has helped a diverse range of clients tell their stories through impactful and compelling visual creations.
Her work spans designing collections of prints, patterns, and weaves for the home furnishings industry, collaborating with interior decorators, fashion designers, photo stylists, and manufacturers both in the U.S. and internationally.
She has also created graphic and editorial designs, including catalogs, periodicals, collateral materials, and books, for educational and art organizations as well as individual clients.
Notable clients include Williams-Sonoma Home, Pottery Barn, Robert Kaufman Fabrics, The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), and The Last Straw Boutique in San Francisco.

Dance and poetry are integral to her creative process.
Sandra's painting sessions often begin with dance improvisations, allowing her to explore visual narratives in space while preparing her body and mind for the creative process. Poetry also plays a significant role, serving as a linguistic tool to evoke non-verbal, visceral imagery.
Her fine art—comprising abstract paintings, mixed media, and textile works—unfolds through layers of marks, pigments, and stitches, often revealing hidden poems beneath the surface. She embraces spontaneity and improvisation, infusing her work with a dynamic and organic energy.
Sandra works on canvas, paper, and fabric and has recently expanded her focus to large-scale fabric installations.
