This mixed media series draws inspiration from the luminous coastline of San Francisco, with its distinctive light, misty atmosphere, and weathered alcoves.
It explores the ephemeral beauty of the sea’s ever-changing forms—from the shifting shapes of seafoam riding the waves to the delicate imprints left on seaweed and crab shells.
To capture this transient phenomenon, I employed a diverse range of materials and techniques, including gouache pigments, pearls, linen, and creamy wavelets of fabric.
The fabric pieces are inscribed with a combination of hand-inscribed Persian poetry and prints created using wooden blocks that I carved.
